Comparing Stereotactic Radiosurgery to Whole Brain Radiotherapy
The purpose of this study is to find out if stereotactic radiosurgery can reduce your symptoms and lower the chance of the cancer growing or getting worse. Stereotactic radiosurgery is commonly used to treat brain tumors. It is a one or two-day outpatient procedure. A high dose of radiation is delivered to small spots in the brain not including the normal brain. We want to find out if this approach is better or worse than the usual approach for cancer that has spread to the brain.
